Planner - Construction - Transport - Central London
In Brief
This company is one of the UK's leading family owned Construction, Civil
Engineering and Property Services companies with expertise in delivering
projects for their clients in affordable housing, civic buildings &
amenities, commercial property, education, healthcare and transport; which
includes airports, highways and rail. They were founded in 1966 this family
owned contractor now require a Planner/Senior Planner for their new Construction
and Transport projects based in Central London
The Role of Planner
This prestigious Construction contractor is looking for a Planner to work
on a new and exciting project in Central London. The purpose of the role
is to enhance the capacity of the Programme Management Team and provide
resilience in delivering the transport portfolio for London 2012; in particular
ensuring all projects are kept to time, budget, quality and defined scope.
Duties will include:
- Compiling submissions to funders committee
- Completion of monthly reporting dashboard and preparation of documentation
required for Formal Management Meeting and Olympic Transport Project Board
to tight timelines and changing requirements to reflect the requirements
of the programme.
- Production of financial reporting information for both project and corporate
budgets, production of the budget tracking documentation ('Blue Sheet'),
generation of variance analysis and submission of accruals data.
- Contract Management and administration.
Key attributes
As a Planner you will be to have a Blue Chip Contractor background working
in Construction or Transport with a minimum of 5 years experience in the
field, preferably in Central London.
The Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Planner and will
need to posses the following experience:
- Construction and Transport experience within a Blue Chip Contractor
- Experience as a practicing Planner with preferably an engineering background
- Measured and well organised approach
- Confident communication, both in writing and in internal and external
presentations
- Sound understanding of both ICE and ECC form of contracts
- Confident handler with P3e, Power Project, MS Project and Primavera
- Established user of AutoCad
- Competent user of MsWord, Excel and Power Point
